General Motors Has The Most Best-Value Vehicles

Consumers want a lot of things from their vehicles. Some wants their vehicles to go a little faster, while some are looking for that vehicle which has a low appetite for fuel. But I am sure that all car owners would want their vehicles to be cost effective in general.

That means that after the purchase, you do not have to shell out big bucks for repairs once in a while. This is where the reliability and quality of the vehicles come in. The best vehicles in their segments where recently recognized with the Vincentric's 2008 Best Value Awards.

The Auto Channel reported that Detroit automaker General Motors has the most best-value vehicles. The automaker had ten vehicles taking home the top prize for their particular classes. But these awards came from large vehicle segments.

For me, that means, General Motors is succeeding in keeping up with the reliability of Japanese-made vehicles. On the other hand, they are still focused on large vehicles like pickup trucks and SUVs. There's nothing wrong with that if they are really fuel efficient. But even if these large vehicles have the best fuel efficiency in their class, it still guzzles up much fuel.

Toyota comes in close second with eight vehicles topping their classes. One of these is the Scion xB which has become a real favorite of young car buyers. It should really be cost effective as young car buyers are generally not as well-off as older car buyers. Honda, the second largest Japanese automaker comes in third with six vehicles awarded the best value badge. That number includes Acura vehicles which comes equipped with or without seat covers.
